Amidst the growing health concerns in our community, we would like to provide you with information pertaining to available resources, how to volunteer, and what precautions you can take to be safe in the Upper Westside.

It takes the entire community working together to hold ourselves and others accountable to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Atlanta. In order to support and protect your Upper Westside neighbors directly and indirectly, here are some things you can do:

  • Donate and/or volunteer. There are many amazing organizations in Atlanta equipped to provide those in need with the proper resources. If you want to help from the comfort of your home consider donating (D) or volunteering your time (V) to the following organizations: The Giving Kitchen (D), Meals on Wheels (V), United Way of Greater Atlanta (D), Open Hand (D) (V), Survival Atlanta (V), Relief Atlanta (D), Hands On Atlanta (V).
  • If you’re in need of groceries. There are organizations popping up to provide Atlantans in need with groceries and meals. Here are a few we’re aware of: Atlanta Survival, the Giving Kitchen, for seniors Open Hand.
  • Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly. Take time throughout your day to be consistently washing your hands for at least 20 seconds. Check out this article from the CDC on the proper technique.
  • If you are showing symptoms, please stay home. In order to prevent further spreading of the virus, please stay home until all symptoms subside and call your doctor or nearest medical facility.

In an effort to serve customers while also encouraging social distancing, many local restaurants such as Miller Union and Yeah! Burger are now offering curbside pick-up. Delivery apps such as GrubHub, DoorDash, and UberEats are also available throughout the area to provide access to your favorite Westside eats while minimizing potential exposure to the virus. (Please tip the drivers well!)

We at the Upper Westside CID want to be a resource to our community during this confusing period. We are actively tracking news of the coronavirus in Atlanta as well as the evolving policies and best practices. Please follow our social media feed for news of Westside businesses providing solutions, as well as any new developments.
