The Upper Westside Community Improvement District (UWCID) seeks proposals from Atlanta professional visual artists to adorn metal signal cabinet boxes with original painted artworks. The UWCID has identified five (5) City-owned signal cabinet boxes and is seeking professional visual artists to paint them with 2-D, artworks by Summer 2020.

The goal of the Signal Cabinet Project is to reclaim this space in the public right-of-way for public art and enhance the character of this District.

Project Timeline

May 25: Proposals due by 4PM

May 29: Selected artists will be notified by 4PM

June 10: Artist mock-up of proposed signal cabinet art due by 4PM including list of desired Golden Fluid Acrylic paint.

June 12: Artist orientation re: expectations and materials

June 24: Artists pick up paint and can begin  

July 6: Cabinet art and priming should be completed (subject to change through COVID-19)

Upper Westside Improvement District Board of Directors meetings are normally held every 3rd Wednesday of the odd months of the year (Jan, Mar, May, July, etc) at 11:00 am at The Works, 1295 Chattahoochee Ave NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.*
