ABOUT
Laying the groundwork for smart urban growth. The Upper Westside Improvement District works to enhance connectivity, greenspace, and safety through investment and by cultivating community partnerships.
The Upper Westside is a Community Improvement District (CID), a special governmental entity formed by local commercial property owners and legislated by the City of Atlanta. There are over 25 CIDs in Metro Atlanta, including Buckhead, Midtown, and Downtown. Property owners in the CID fund the improvement district through an additional property tax and, in return, have money to spend on infrastructure improvements, beautification, and public safety within their district.
CIDs are collaborative. We leverage our funds through partnerships with other public, private, and philanthropic entities such as the City of Atlanta, Renew Atlanta, the Department of Public Works, and the Georgia Department of Transportation to attract additional infrastructure investment to the District.
