The heat is on — and so is progress in the Upper Westside:
Our New Interactive Parking Map Is Live
Some of you are scratching your heads wondering why the Upper Westside CID has created an interactive parking map when we’re primarily focused on livable transportation improvements. We understand there are still important gaps in the multimodal network to get to and through the District which means that riding transit, walking and biking are not always feasible or convenient options.
The interactive parking map is a tool to make finding spots easier and the costs of parking more predictable to encourage a “park once and spend the day” mentality to benefit our incredible restaurants and retailers that make the Upper Westside so vibrant. We want to encourage those coming to the area to get out of their cars and experience the Upper Westside on foot. We’re also working to catalogue where available bike parking is at each address on the interactive map!
Navigating the Westside just got easier. Our brand-new interactive parking map helps you confirm rates and find validated parking across the district — all in one click. We’ll keep updating it as new parking becomes available.
View the map here and save it to your phone for easy access.

What’s Underway: Capital Projects
We’re actively investing in infrastructure to improve safety and connectivity:
Collier & Emery Intersection Improvements
We’re removing turn lanes and adding a new sidewalk to improve safety at this key crossing. The Howell Mill Complete Street project will follow with traffic signals at Collier & Emery and Beck & Howell Mill.
Howell Mill Signalized Pedestrian Crossing at Piedmont West
The new crossing signal is built — we’re working with the City and Georgia Power to get it activated and improving pedestrian access in the meantime.
Westside Originals: Celebrating Local Icons
We’re turning the spotlight on the restaurants that have shaped the Westside into what it is today. From Miller Union to Cooks & Soldiers, these longtime staples are still here and thriving.
Follow along on Instagram as we share their stories and dishes.

Big news for tea lovers: The Chai Box is opening soon in the old Doughnut Dollies space on Howell Mill Rd, just south of Collier Rd.
Founded by local entrepreneur Monica Sunny, The Chai Box brings handcrafted blends and a cozy new offering to the north side of the district. We’re thrilled to welcome this locally owned concept to the neighborhood!
Stay tuned for opening updates and sneak peeks! @thechaibox
