There has been lots of press coverage about the recent restaurant closures and we felt it was time to share some thoughts. The Upper Westside has seen remarkable growth over the past decade, with major developments reshaping the district, particularly in the wake of the pandemic. As restaurants and retailers nationwide adapt to evolving consumer trends, Atlanta’s Upper Westside continues to stand out as a hub of innovation and reinvestment.

Since 2016, millions of dollars have been invested in enhancing sidewalks, expanding trails, creating public spaces, and establishing signature events like Westside Stride. Held each October, this community celebration highlights local businesses while showcasing the district’s growing walkability and unique character.

Through strategic investments in infrastructure and placemaking, the Upper Westside CID will continue to strengthen the urban fabric of the area. With a dynamic mix of retail, dining, and entertainment, the district is poised for a thriving future—one that reflects the energy and vision of its community. We frequently have opportunities for you to participate in the planning for the future including on our ongoing Collier Road Multimodal Study.

Below we share all the positive news in the food & beverage and entertainment sphere for the Upper Westside area!

Celebrate Trails Day with an Art-Filled Adventure! 🎨🚶‍♂️

Get ready to explore the Upper Westside in a whole new way this Trails Day! We’re partnering with a talented local artist—who previously painted a stunning mural along one of our recently completed trails—for a special Art Drop Campaign.

Join us for a unique scavenger hunt along Woodall Rail Trail where you can discover limited-edition stickers, keychains, and collectible pins inspired by the mural. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the beauty of our trails while taking home a piece of local art!

Mark your calendars for April 26, 2025 to hit the trail and see what treasures you can find! 🌿✨

Marking the Grand Opening of The Spur Trail!
