The CID recently installed a new sidewalk along Howell Mill at 14th Street with the support of the Marietta Street Artery Association and the permission of Georgia Tech. The new sidewalk fills an important gap in the neighborhood’s pedestrian  network.

The new 280-foot sidewalk replaces what was a difficult-to-navigate, pea gravel path. Additional changes are coming to area in the next few years with a mixed-use development being constructed at the corner of Howell Mill and 14th Street. The developer, SJ Collins, has agreed to keep the sidewalk open during their construction before installing wider sidewalks and a raised bike lane.

The CID is pleased to provide this important community infrastructure as a part of our commitment to making the Upper Westside safe and accessible for all.
