The CID recently announced plans for a new greenspace at the corner of 17th Street and Northside Drive adjacent to the Atlanta City Waterworks Hemphill Reservoir. Executive Director Elizabeth Hollister notes of the project, “This high-profile corner will be an asset for the Upper Westside for years to come.”
In addition to skyline views, the greenspace will include mulch trails and benches that help activate the currently underutilized space. The CID reached an agreement for the project with the Department of Watershed Management, with support from former city councilmember Yolanda Adrean and the Berkeley Park Neighborhood Association.
The CID is currently in the process of selecting a contractor and aims to finish the project in the fall of 2018.
