Future Upper Westside Infrastructure Investments

Our CID’s 10-year anniversary is quickly approaching in July and our Upper Westside Masterplan is turning 5 already!
Back in 2016, a group of forward thinking property owners gathered to talk about Howell Mill Road, the volume of proposed redevelopment, and what the future would look like without public investment to support the incoming density. The CID was born out of the desire to shape the public realm with strategic investments in multimodal infrastructure, greenspace, public art and branding.
In 2021, after almost a year and a half of public engagement (during a pandemic no-less), the community overwhelmingly supported the adoption of the Upper Westside Masterplan – our roadmap to CID investment. Projects in the masterplan included streetscapes, new roads, sidewalks, cycle tracks, trails, and shared-use paths. We’re happy to report that we’ve made so much progress chipping away at that first project list, that it’s time to refresh our Capital Project list in the Masterplan.
Greener Days Ahead
We’ll be setting up in person outside of Perrine’s at 1168 Howell Mill (Westside Provisions District):
- Tuesday, April 21st (tomorrow) from 9AM to 12PM
- Thursday, April 23rd from 11AM to 2PM
We’ll be giving out $$ to eat local (hello coffee, ice cream, and pastries) for participants of the Masterplan Refresh!
If you can’t make it out, you can still provide input by completing this short survey.

Welcome to the Neighborhood, Upper West Market!
On April 8th, Upper West Market celebrated its official ribbon cutting — a milestone that reflects exactly the kind of vibrant, walkable community we’ve been working to build. We’re thrilled to welcome them to the Upper Westside and look forward to seeing the space become a neighborhood staple when it officially opens its doors in May.

More updates—and more activity—are ahead.
Thanks for staying engaged with the Upper Westside!
